Prime Minister Tareque Rahman has arrived in Dalian, China, concluding his two-day official visit to Malaysia. He departed from Kuala Lumpur on Monday night and landed at Dalian Zhoushuizi International Airport at 11:05 PM local time.

According to the Prime Minister’s Additional Press Secretary, Atiqur Rahman Rumon, upon the arrival of the special Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the Prime Minister and his wife, Dr. Zobaida Rahman, they were welcomed by the Vice Governor of Liaoning Province and Bangladesh’s Ambassador to China.

Subsequently, the Prime Minister was taken to Hotel Shangri-La in Dalian via a motorcade from the airport, where he will stay for two days.

Earlier on Monday afternoon, the Prime Minister departed from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia, on a special flight bound for China. During his stay in Dalian, he will participate in several important programs. Following this, he will proceed to Beijing, the capital of China, where the main activities of his official visit will commence.

During the visit, the Prime Minister will participate in the 17th Annual Meeting of the World Economic Forum’s ‘New Champions,’ also known as the ‘Summer Davos Forum.’

Officials state that Prime Minister Tareque Rahman’s visit holds special significance as Bangladesh and China are entering the “Golden 50 years” of their diplomatic relations. According to them, the visit will play a crucial role in deepening and expanding bilateral ties and unlocking new avenues for future cooperation.

The Prime Minister is scheduled to return home on June 26. This marks his first foreign visit since assuming office on February 17 this year.

Previously, during his visit to Malaysia, Prime Minister Tareque Rahman held an exclusive meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim. Additionally, high-level meetings were held between delegations from both countries. During these meetings, one Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) and two other bilateral agreements were signed.
